We are seeking a Test Engineer to join our engineering team in Boulder, CO to design, automate, and execute tests for cutting-edge antenna prototypes and products used in advanced radar and communications systems. You will develop Python-based automated test solutions, analyze data, optimize production test coverage and time, and help transition prototypes to efficient manufacturing. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role in a lab environment supporting both government and commercial programs.
How You'll Contribute
- Design, implement, and maintain automated test procedures using Python
- Develop test plans and procedures from product specifications
- Set up and operate test equipment (power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes, VNAs, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, thermal chambers)
- Collect, analyze, and report test data; provide recommendations to improve design and manufacturing
- Review and refine production test flows, sequencing, and artifacts to ensure correct performance and process metrics
- Optimize test coverage versus test time in a production environment
- Participate in requirements and design reviews; communicate findings to peers, management, and customers
- Support testing of RF devices, passive antennas, phased-array systems, and active antennas, including near- and far-field measurements
- Collaborate in a cross-disciplinary team; mentor and be mentored to solve complex problems
- Travel as required to test labs and demonstrations (no international travel anticipated)
What Makes You a Great Fit
- US Citizenship with ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math, or equivalent
- Experience writing test plans and procedures based on product specifications
- Hands-on test automation with lab equipment (power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes, network/spectrum analyzers, thermal chambers)
- Proficiency writing, running, and reporting automated tests (Python or similar scripting language)
- Experience in production test environments optimizing coverage vs. test time
- Experience testing RF devices and hardware
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; participation in requirement and design reviews
- Comfort working in a lab environment; resilient, willing to learn new areas, and able to ‘fail fast’
- Preferred: 2–4 years industry experience in electronic product testing
- Preferred: Experience with Military/aviation standards (MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, DO-160, DO-178, DO-254)
- Preferred: Proficient Python programming
- Preferred: Experience generating electrical schematics (Altium Designer a plus) and reading mechanical drawings
- Preferred: Prior antenna testing experience, including radiation pattern measurements in near- and far-field chambers
- Physical ability to work in an office/lab setting, lift lab equipment, and use stools as needed
