Role Description
The Design Assistant will contribute to the design process and support the team in creating high-quality jewelry pieces. Responsibilities include assisting with design concepts, supporting Computer-Aided Design (CAD) work, maintaining design documentation, and collaborating with various departments. The role also involves ensuring design accuracy and quality control. This is a full-time, on-site position based in New York, NY.
Interns will be given the opportunity to work directly with the core design team, providing invaluable experience to bolster a design portfolio. Reflected works will be integrated into custom designs and annual collections. AMNY works with major New York-based educational institutions, and is flexible with credit-based internship programs.
Qualifications
- Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to collaborate with team members and assist clients effectively
- Knowledge of Interior Design principles and previous experience with design aesthetics
- Hands-on experience in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and applications related to jewelry design are strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Graphic Design tools to create visual representations and design presentations
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Fine Arts, or a related field is preferred
- Previous experience in jewelry or luxury goods design is a plus
