General Duties and Responsibilities:
Guidiville Indian Rancheria is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide strategic financial leadership and ensure the integrity, transparency, and sustainability of the Tribe’s financial operations. The CFO oversees all financial activities, including accounting, Payroll, A/P, A/R, budgeting, compliance, and reporting, and supports long-term economic development and tribal sovereignty.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for tribal government operations and programs. Oversee accounting functions including general ledger, payroll, A/P, A/R, and financial reporting Ensure compliance with Federal, State,Tribal and Local funding requirements (including 2 CFR Part 200, BIA, IHS, Treasury, State of California Grants,etc.) Negotiate contractual conditions and prices with suppliers. Coordinate annual audits and maintain audit-ready financial records Develop and enforce internal controls, policies, and financial procedures Provide financial oversight and analysis for tribal enterprises and economic initiatives Prepare and present financial reports to Tribal Administrator and Tribal Council Supervise finance staff and support organizational financial capacity
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required (CPA or MBA preferred) G 7–10 years of progressive financial management experience Experience with federal, State andcommunity grants (BIA, HUD, IHS, State of CA preferred) Government/FUND accounting required Experience working with tribal governments strongly preferred Proficiency in financial systems, including MIP, or similar platforms Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills

This role requires regular travel and may involve working under pressure to meet short deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and manage multiple projects and tasks of varying complexity. While performing job duties, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, and communicate effectively by talking and hearing. The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
