Position Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity to support the Direct Procurement function within our fast-growing organization. This role will assist with sourcing activities, supplier coordination, and cost tracking for assigned direct categories, with exposure to branded packaging development. The Procurement Specialist will partner with cross-functional teams to help ensure packaging solutions meet brand standards, operational needs, and timelines, while gaining hands-on experience supporting business growth and day-to-day execution.
The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on—someone who can support complex sourcing initiatives, analyze cost drivers, and build trusted relationships internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Procurement & Category Support
• Support assigned direct procurement categories, including branded packaging, by assisting with cost, quality, and service objectives
• Assist in gathering information and preparing materials to support category strategies and business needs
• Learn category fundamentals and contribute to ongoing process and sourcing improvements
Supplier & Sourcing Coordination
• Support vendor RFQs/RFIs, including data collection, quote comparisons, and documentation
• Assist in maintaining relationships with suppliers to support day-to-day operational needs
• Track basic market trends and supplier performance data to support team insights
•Cascade performance feedback and updates to suppliers, ensuring clear communication on expectations, improvements, and timelines
Financial & Operational Support
• Assist with cost tracking, purchase order management, and basic expense monitoring
• Learn and support procurement systems and tools, including PLM data entry and maintenance, to assist day-to-day procurement and sourcing activities
• Support forecasting and supply tracking activities across channels
• Help review invoices and identify discrepancies in partnership with Accounting and internal teams
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Coordinate with internal teams including Marketing, Planning, Operations, and Logistics to support project execution
• Assist in ensuring packaging needs and timelines are communicated and tracked effectively
• Provide timely updates and follow-ups to support team alignment
• Manage end-to-end sample handling, including receiving and organizing incoming samples, preparing and displaying items for internal review, distributing samples to cross-functional partners (e.g., Merchandising and Photography), and coordinating accurate packing and shipment back to suppliers in a timely manner
Reporting & Data Analysis
• Compile and maintain reports on spend, suppliers, and operational metrics
• Assist in analyzing data and summarizing key takeaways for the team
• Maintain organized records and documentation to support decision-making
• Maintain and audit PLM data to ensure accuracy and completeness, including timely input of product information, ongoing data validation, and continuous upkeep of records to support cross-functional alignment and reporting
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
- 2+ years of experience in Direct Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Packaging Development, preferably within a fast-growing, multi-channel brand
- Proven experience sourcing and commercializing branded packaging programs
- Working knowledge of negotiation, analytical, and financial concepts, with the ability to apply them in daily work
- Ability to develop working relationships and communicate effectively with team members across functions
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
