About the Role
This is a hands-on Product Designer role with full project ownership.
You will be responsible for taking products from early concept through production and market launch. That includes CAD design, prototyping, testing, and managing outside contractors and manufacturers to ensure timelines, quality, and deliverables are met.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both designing products and owning the process required to bring them to life in a remote, self-managed environment.
What You’ll DoProduct Design & Development
- Design parts and assemblies using SolidWorks or Autodesk Fusion 360
- Create manufacturing-ready drawings and documentation
- Design across multiple product types, including:
- Sheet metal components
- 3D printed parts
- Soft goods (bags, organizers, covers)
- Cast aluminum and injection-molded components
- Build, test, and iterate functional prototypes
- Perform real-world testing and revise designs based on feedback
Project Ownership & Vendor Management
- Own product development timelines from concept to production
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Coordinate with and manage outside contractors, fabricators, and manufacturers
- Track milestones, identify risks, and keep projects moving forward
- Hold vendors accountable for quality, communication, and delivery schedules
- Collaborate closely with internal product, operations, and leadership teams to ensure products are launch-ready
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience with SolidWorks or Autodesk Fusion 360
- Proven experience creating manufacturing drawings and documentation
- Hands-on understanding of prototyping and fabrication
- Experience working with outside manufacturers, vendors, or contractors
- Ability to manage multiple projects from concept through production
- Comfort taking ownership and driving projects independently in a remote setup
- Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills
- Interest in the automotive aftermarket and/or outdoor gear industry (required)
