We're working with a leading specialist education consultancy on this exciting opportunity within the Southwark SEN sector.
Are you a detail-oriented professional looking to make an impact in a vibrant SEN school setting? We are seeking a Junior Finance Assistant to drive financial administration, managing everything from cashless payment systems to complex petty cash reconciliations in a fast-paced educational environment.
The Role
- Lead the administration of school cashless systems, overseeing parent consents and digital payments for school trips.
- Take full ownership of financial processing, including raising purchase orders and ensuring timely processing of invoices and income.
- Manage school petty cash and school fund accounts with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Oversee the commercial aspect of school life by managing the ordering, sales, and inventory of school uniforms and stationery.
- Support the wider office team with general administration, maintaining professional standards of presentation in all written communications.
What You'll Need
- Proven experience handling financial systems, ideally within a school or educational setting (FMS, SIMS, or similar platforms).
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to undergo urgent screening to start ASAP.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial administration tools for processing high volumes of transactions.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to liaise with parents, staff, and external suppliers.
- Full right to work in the UK and the ability to commit to a full-time, on-site schedule in Southwark.
