Summary:
The role involves managing the creation and execution of Capacity Creation Requests (CCRs) to initiate US domestic network transport builds across ULH and OTN Mesh networks. The successful applicant will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure the transport planning team’s strategic business initiatives are delivered efficiently.

Responsibilities

Timely creation and action on individual Capacity Creation Requests (CCRs).
Initiate and engineer network projects with a deep understanding of the transport network.
Deploy new network technology and adopt new inventory and provisioning systems.
Perform planning, forecasting, and capacity monitoring of LD/ULH Transport network infrastructure.
Coordinate with real estate and central office equipment teams to ensure adequate resources.
Support multi-year transport capacity forecasts and network builds.
Provide ad-hoc restoration for priority systems during fiber cable outages.
Coordinate with various teams to communicate network build plans and obtain stakeholder buy-in.
Ensure compliance with engineering, financial, planning, and operational standards.
Perform detailed equipment engineering for network augments.
Manage and update the central Network Inventory Database.
Develop collaborative working relationships across stakeholders.
Create diversification projects based on user group requirements.
Resolve issues and eliminate performance roadblocks.
Perform and provide data analysis, reports, and presentations for transport planning stakeholders.
Train and mentor junior engineers.
Participate in regular team meetings and conference calls.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Engineering degree.
5-10 years of progressive technical experience designing SONET and DWDM transport systems.
Proficiency in drawing complex system diagrams using Visio.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and work in fast-paced, dynamic settings.

Desired Skills

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Experience collecting and consolidating information from multiple tools, systems, or platforms.
Familiarity with systems such as ICON, CCP, BGW, MECCA, NAUTLUS, CANVAS, TCOMS, or nSAP is a plus.

Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $53.00 - $55.00 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
