Job Description
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing hardware design improvements, leveraging deep insights and experience to enhance product quality and efficiency, working under general supervision.
Your Role
- Support the development and sustaining of a Wearable Class II medical device and supporting peripherals
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and protocols to validate hardware designs against requirements and specifications
- Track and optimize the performance and reliability of hardware components and systems to proactively identify areas for improvement

- You’ve acquired minimal experience in documenting hardware design specifications, test results, validation procedures and regulatory compliance understanding
- You have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering OR Vocational Education in Information Technology or equivalent or 4 years of experience with Vocational Education in areas such as System Architecture, System Design, Hardware Engineering or equivalent
- You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
- You can cultivate effective relationships, share knowledge, and provide influence over projects and peer groups, demonstrating full understanding of area of specialization

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Philips Transparency Details
The pay range for this position in San Diego, CA is $83,000 to $131,000.
The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
