Printemps New York offering an unpaid internship opportunity for a Visual Merchandising Intern within its luxury retail environment.
This role is designed as a structured learning experience in visual merchandising, retail design, and luxury brand presentation.
The intern will support the Visual Merchandising team in executing in-store displays while developing technical and creative skills aligned with academic learning objectives.
The primary purpose of this internship is education and training, in collaboration with the intern’s university program.
Learning Objectives / Training Focus
- Understanding luxury retail visual merchandising standards
- Learning execution of seasonal display concepts and brand guidelines
- Developing skills in product presentation and spatial design
- Observing collaboration between merchandising, sales, and marketing teams
- Gaining exposure to customer experience strategy in a luxury department store
Supervised Activities
- Assist in the setup of in-store displays, window installations, and podiums under supervision
- Support product placement according to visual merchandising guidelines
- Participate in maintaining visual consistency across store areas
- Observe and assist in the implementation of promotional campaigns
- Work closely with the Visual Merchandising Manager and team for training
Education, experience, and skills needed:
- Bachelor’s degree in Visual Merchandising, Fashion Design, Interior Design, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in visual merchandising, fashion retail, or a related field.
- Strong creative and artistic abilities with an eye for design and detail.
- Knowledge of fashion trends and the ability to translate them into visually compelling displays.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high standards.
- Strong understanding of product presentation and visual merchandising best practices.
Duration: 3 to 6 months (subject to academic program requirements and approval)
