ROLE SUMMARY
Dogtra is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sales Account Representative with a background in CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) to support our Sales Team in managing key accounts and driving business growth. This role is highly focused on account-level ownership, execution, and relationship management, requiring hands-on experience working with big box / regional chain retail partners, managing promotions, and supporting the execution of strategies. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a CPG or branded consumer products environment, strong communication skills, sales experience, and a collaborative mindset. This position reports to the Director of Sales.
This role is not centered around high-volume outbound activity or short-term transactional selling. It is best suited for someone who prefers a measured, analytical, fact-based approach to account development and sales management at the corporate level.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT NOT LIMITED TO)
1. Provide account-level execution and support across key mid-tier customers such as Chewy, Bass Pro/Cabela’s, Scheels, and other accounts.
2. Support account management activities, including promotion trackers, assisting with building promotional plans, and coordinating execution along with the Sales Team.
3. Assist in building plans aligned with CPG best practices, seasonal selling cycles, and account-specific strategies.
4. Provide trade show support and follow-up, including relationship management with niche buying groups (e.g., Sports Inc., Worldwide Buying Group, Hunting & Pet Associations).
5. Participate in select travel to pursue new business account opportunities and support in-person meetings.
6. Collaborate with the Marketing Team to enhance product content, in-store education programs, and listing accuracy across retail and eCommerce platforms including audits of websites.
7. Monitor account performance and sales metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
8. Support onboarding and training of new retail partners or accounts including assistance in the development of sales materials, including pitch decks, product sheets, and promotional collateral.
9. Assist with sales forecasting, product planning, and communication with both Sales and Operations teams regarding inventory and stock related issues and concerns.
10. Begin managing a small portfolio of accounts to develop foundational sales experience.
11. Identify new customer segments and evaluate strategic business opportunities in collaboration with senior sales managers.
12. Support the RMA process through Dogtra’s ERP system, including tracking, reporting, and sample distribution.
13. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 2-3 years of experience in CPG sales, account management, sales support, inside sales, or customer-facing sales
• Demonstrated understanding of DTC, retail (food, drug, mass, specialty) and eCommerce account execution
• Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail
• Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Solid understanding of sales operations, account workflows, and business operations
• Will require travel up to 30% for office visits, trade shows, and account pursuit or development
Location: Must reside within commutable distance from the Garden Grove office location or Phoenix, Arizona
Preferred:
• Experience working in pet, electronics, or hunting/sporting goods industries
