Job Summary
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the review, validation, and integration of electrical systems and components in a manufacturing and engineering environment. This role focuses heavily on electrical harness review, validation, and release, ensuring designs meet engineering standards and schematics.
This is a hands-on, review-focused role (not primarily design) where you will work closely with engineers to troubleshoot, validate, and ensure proper implementation of wiring harnesses and electrical components. The position is based in a mining equipment environment in Tucson and offers exposure to real-world electrical systems, harnesses, and component integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, validate, and release electrical harnesses to ensure compliance with schematics and engineering standards
- Inspect wiring, connectors, and components to ensure proper configuration and functionality
- Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot and resolve harness and electrical system issues before release
- Interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and layouts to verify accuracy of harness assemblies
- Support integration of electrical components across machinery and engine systems
- Evaluate system performance, reliability, and safety, recommending improvements as needed
- Participate in testing and validation activities related to electrical systems and harnesses
- Communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on design intent and implementation
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Associate degree with strong hands-on experience will be considered)
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on electrical experience, including internships, lab work, or research
- Strong experience with wiring harnesses, cables, connectors, and electrical components
- Hands-on experience building, troubleshooting, or working with electrical harnesses
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Solid understanding of electrical systems in machinery, automotive, or similar environments
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with engine or electric vehicle (EV) harness systems
- Exposure to manufacturing, heavy equipment, or machinery environments
- Experience reviewing harnesses against schematics rather than full design ownership
- Familiarity with PLM tools (e.g., Teamcenter)
- Knowledge of ASME standards or similar engineering standards
- Basic project coordination or scheduling experience
Additional Notes
- This role is focused on harness review and validation rather than full design work
- Candidates must be comfortable working hands-on with harnesses and electrical components
- Creo or CAD experience is not required
- Open to candidates with Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Associate degrees, provided they have strong hands-on experience
- Candidates with lab, research, or field experience working with electrical systems and harnesses are highly encouraged to apply
- Non-local candidates are welcome (must be open to relocating to Tucson, AZ)
Why This Role?
This position offers an opportunity to work on real-world electrical systems supporting advanced machinery in a manufacturing environment. You will gain hands-on experience with harness validation, system integration, and cross-functional engineering collaboration.
