CAD Designer
Overview
The CAD Designer I supports new product development by creating and revising 3D models and detailed technical drawings. This role requires strong proficiency in 3D design principles, manufacturing tolerances, and industry standards, along with the ability to solve technical problems and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with design engineers to develop and revise 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings
- Utilize one or more 3D CAD systems, engineering database tools, revision control systems, and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software
- Apply knowledge of GIW products, workflows, and processes to support engineering and manufacturing objectives
- Work within a CAD team to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex design challenges
- Create and modify drawings based on verbal direction, sketches, or engineering input
- Ensure accuracy and quality of models and drawings to support internal production, external vendors, and end customers
- Support complex design initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
- Follow established CAD standards, design practices, and work instructions
- Communicate clearly and professionally on technical matters related to pump design and manufacturing
QualificationsEducation
- Associate’s degree in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) or a related field, or equivalent experience
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience using 3D CAD software
- Hands-on experience with 3D modeling, assemblies, and 2D drawing creation
- Proficiency in producing accurate, production-ready models and drawings
- Familiarity with fabrication processes and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
Pay: $27.26 - $32.83 per hour
