Senior Data Center Facilities Development Manager / Project Manager
Location: Maryland / Virginia / DC area
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Center Facilities Development Manager / Project Manager to support large-scale data center construction and infrastructure projects for a leading global technology organization. This role will focus on managing complex builds while supporting a portfolio of interconnected projects across a rapidly expanding region.
This is a high-impact opportunity to work on mission-critical infrastructure in one of the largest data center markets in the U.S.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of data center construction projects from planning through commissioning and startup
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
- Serve as the primary point of contact between internal teams and external colocation providers
- Oversee vendor selection, contract execution, and ongoing vendor performance
- Conduct regular site walks to monitor construction progress, coordination, and quality
- Lead commissioning and startup activities to ensure systems meet design and operational requirements
- Oversee installation of critical infrastructure systems, including power, cooling, networking, and structured cabling
- Identify project risks and gaps, and implement mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with design, engineering, and construction teams to ensure alignment across all project phases
- Support material tracking, issue resolution, and continuous process improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in construction project management, facilities development, or infrastructure delivery (or 11+ years of relevant experience without a degree)
- Proven experience managing large-scale, complex construction or infrastructure projects
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects or programs
- Strong understanding of construction lifecycles, including planning, execution, and commissioning
- Experience managing vendors, contractors, and cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting data center or mission-critical infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with data center systems including power, cooling, and cabling
- Experience working with colocation providers or large-scale infrastructure programs
- Experience with commissioning/startup phases of construction projects
- Background in contract management, budgeting, and financial tracking
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

Pay: $70.00 - $80.00 per hour
