Join our innovative team as an Electrical Engineer and be at the forefront of designing, developing, and optimizing complex electrical systems across diverse projects. Treadwell Corporation, located in Thomaston, CT, manufactures oxygen generation equipment for the US Navy and is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer.
· Design, evaluate and support proprietary equipment for the US military oxygen generation.
· Select components and equipment based on review and analysis of customer defined specifications.
· Create engineering drawings and procedures to support the manufacture and test of mil-spec equipment.
· Create electrical schematics, harness drawings, wire tabulation lists along with detail and assembly drawings for system electrical components and assemblies.
· Prepare and review documentation for engineering changes and product design verification.
· Write component specifications, manufacturing and assembly procedures, test plans and test procedures.
· Develop new products and product improvements for military applications.
· Support the Purchasing and Inspection groups by resolving vendor technical issues.
· Support Production Test/Field Service Group with system and component testing and troubleshooting.
· Assist with design, documentation and maintenance of in-house test facilities and equipment.
· BS in Electrical Engineering
· Minimum of 10 years of work experience preferably in a defense industry engineering environment with knowledge of military specifications.
· Must by US Citizen and able to secure a Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance.
· Industry related experience preferred using Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) technologies such as electrolyzer / fuel cell systems, oxygen / hydrogen systems, chemical processing, gas separation, gas and liquid delivery, water treatment systems, military / submarine equipment.
· Preferred knowledge in mechanical and chemical engineering disciplines.
· Must have very strong organizational skills and the ability to be a self-starter and team player
Strong understanding of electrical codes such as NEC standards; ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately
Excellent project scheduling skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining quality standards
Candidate must have demonstratable knowledge in:
· Electrical and Electronic Systems
· Power Distribution and Conversion
· VME and PLC Microprocessor based Control Systems
· Electronic Packaging for military submarine applications
· National Electrical Code and Safety Standards
· Engineering Documentation Processes
· Familiarity within fleet support and troubleshooting aboard US Navy submarines
· Proficient in use of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)
· Familiarity with Network Administration, PTC Creo and Windchill is preferred.
Physical Requirement/Working Conditions:
· Must be able to work physically in the office environment, lab environment and in the field, wearing required PPE as designated.
· Lifting to 25lbs, utilizing hand tools, test equipment.
· Go up/down ladders and pass-through hatch openings on-board submarines.
· Travel: up to 10% domestic or international
