Job Description
The Financial Risk Management (FRM) function within Global Risk and Compliance (GRC) is responsible for identifying and managing Credit Risk oversight, Model Risk Management, Treasury Risk, External Fraud Risk Oversight, and Financial Crimes Decision Science & Analytics CoE, across all business units, functions, processes, and geographies at American Express.
The Analyst, Strategy and Business Planning will report into the Director Strategy and Business Planning, and be a key member of the Financial Risk Management Executive Office supporting the EVP Head of Financial Risk Management. The incumbent will play a critical role in supporting the Financial Risk Management Organization by contributing to overall business planning, coordinating colleague engagement and talent planning initiatives, preparing executive level presentations and communication, as well as executing on other strategic projects. The role will have the opportunity to work across a wide range of strategic, analytic and communications initiatives to help ensure the business objectives of the organization are attained. The role will also entail significant relationship management with the Financial Risk Management Leadership Team, Second Line of Defence (2LOD) Senior Leadership team, Global Risk & Compliance (GRC) Executive Office, and other key Blue Box stakeholders across the organization.
This role is ideal for someone with the ability to manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously and establish collaborative partnerships across the enterprise.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide strategic, analytical and decision support on a wide range of complex business issues and initiatives.
- Oversee general project management and special projects requiring strategic analysis and data consolidation.
- Support the Director Strategy and Business Planning in preparing communications for high exposure strategic business reviews/presentations to senior leaders and external audiences.
- Support the development and execution of internal communications on behalf of the EVP Head of Financial Risk Management for key events, business updates and other deliverables, including accountability for organizing Town Halls, team events, planning sessions, among others.
- Lead the development and execution of strategies and initiatives to drive Colleague Engagement across Financial Risk Management.
- Support business planning and operations.
- Build strong working relationships across the Financial Risk Management team, in addition to key partners, to maximize collaboration, problem solving and generate solutions to deliver results.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Global Risk & Compliance, Colleague Experience Group and project management.
