Job Summary:
Our client in Elk Grove Village is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their accounting team.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable
- Process vendor invoices accurately and timely
- Match invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation
- Manage payment processing, ACH/wire requests, and check runs
- Maintain vendor records and resolve vendor inquiries
- Monitor AP aging and ensure timely payment of obligations
- Assist with month-end AP accruals and reconciliations
Accounts Receivable
- Generate and distribute customer invoices
- Apply customer payments and reconcile customer accounts
- Monitor AR aging and follow up on outstanding balances
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding payment status
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies
- Assist with cash application and reporting activities
General Accounting Support
- Assist with account reconciliations and month-end close activities
- Support financial reporting and audit preparation
- Maintain organized accounting records and documentation
- Assist with process documentation and workflow improvements
- Participate in cross-functional projects and operational initiatives
- Support accounting leadership with ad hoc reporting and analysis
Qualifications:
- 3+ years at the staff accountant level with hands-on experience with AP/AR, aging reports, vendor follow up, and month end close
- NetSuite preferred
- Intermediate Excel required
