Title: UX Researcher(Mixed Method) – Google Beam

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented UX Researcher to support evaluative and mixed-methods research for Google Beam. In this role, you will collaborate closely with UX researchers, vision science researchers, product managers, engineers, and designers to conduct qualitative and quantitative studies that influence product direction and user experience strategy.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in human behavior research, experimental design, and usability methodologies, along with the ability to analyze complex data and communicate findings clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support the setup, coordination, and execution of UX research studies
- Develop research plans, define participant criteria, and organize study logistics and materials
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research activities including usability studies, interviews, surveys, and perceptual studies
- Analyze research findings using statistical and analytical tools and synthesize insights into actionable recommendations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including researchers, engineers, designers, and product managers
- Present research findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner
- Ensure research quality, accuracy, and operational excellence throughout the study lifecycle
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree (completed) in Psychology, Sociology, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, or another field focused on human behavior
- 1–3 years of professional experience or equivalent graduate-level research experience
- Experience using data analysis and statistical tools such as SPSS, R, or similar platforms
- Familiarity with multiple UX research methodologies, with deep expertise in one or more areas including:
- Usability studies
- Behavioral science experiments
- Concept testing
- Perceptual studies
- User interviews
- Field research
- Surveys
- Strong understanding of qualitative research methods and foundational research principles
- Knowledge of experimental design and basic quantitative analysis
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to independently manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Human Factors, Vision Science, Cognition & Perception, Social Sciences, or related disciplines
- Experience working with display technologies or immersive communication systems
- Familiarity with:
- Psychophysical studies
- Perceptual thresholds
- Vestibular conflict concepts
- Visual artifacts and advanced optics
- AR/VR research methodologies
- Experience conducting research for enterprise-facing products or experiences
Pay: $80.00 - $90.00 per hour
