Job Summary: We’re looking for a creative, curious Designer to join the marketing team at Old Town School of Folk Music. The ideal candidate will help bring our programming and brand to life – supporting classes, concerts, workshops, festivals and special events through compelling visuals to connect with the diverse communities we serve. Responsibilities include general marketing and advertising brand support, print production, and digital marketing content creation.
Required Skills/Competencies:
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 2 years of professional design experience, preferably in marketing, creative agency, or non-profit settings
Skills/Competencies:
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically:
Strong portfolio demonstrating:
Print collateral design (e.g., brochures, posters, annual reports)
Digital asset creation for web and social media platforms
Layout design for various publication types
Hybrid content across media merging visual storytelling with persuasive text
Content utilizing illustrations and typography
Brand identity development
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello) and collaborative platforms (e.g., Slack, Microsoft Teams)
Demonstrated knowledge of accessibility standards and ability to create designs that meet these guidelines
Experience with responsive design principles and ability to adapt designs for various screen sizes and devices
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to:
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills/Competencies:
Basic understanding of HTML/CSS for effective collaboration with web development team
Experience with Figma or Sketch, motion graphics and video design tools such as Adobe Premiere and After Effects.

Compensation: 48,000 - 51,000, non-exempt role
