Salary Range: $150,000 – $200,000 (depending on experience, qualifications, and licensure)
Job Summary
Riverview is building an in-house structural design capability to support the long-term vision of our milk processing plant development. This senior role is for an experienced structural engineer or design professional ready to anchor a newly formed design team and lead the in-house transition of structural work currently performed by outside engineering partners. You will learn about our operation through our current project and grow into meaningful ownership of structural design strategy, documentation, and project execution across future phases of plant work. The right person brings deep technical knowledge, sound judgment, and a willingness to develop the people and processes around them.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the design and documentation of building foundations, footings, and primary structural systems supporting plant operations and process equipment loads.
- Contribute to pipe rack design and support structures that accommodate process piping, conduit, and mechanical systems throughout the facility.
- Coordinate equipment pad and housekeeping pad design to properly support and anchor processing equipment per load and code requirements.
- Conduct analysis and documentation of plant floor systems, including slab design and load capacity, to ensure structural adequacy for current and future equipment placement.
- Organize the design of access platforms and stairway systems that meet safety, code, and operational requirements within the plant environment.
- Establish internal design standards, workflows, and quality expectations that improve communication, efficiency, and turnaround speed.
- Provide technical guidance to less experienced design team members as the team grows.
Qualifications
- Significant experience (8+ years) in structural engineering or design as a licensed engineer, senior designer, or recognized industry expert.
- Demonstrated ability to lead structural design work and produce stamped or production-ready design documentation independently.
- PE licensure (SE preferred), relevant engineering degree, or equivalent depth of professional experience.
- Deep working knowledge of foundation design, structural steel, concrete, and load analysis as applied to industrial or processing facilities.
- Proficiency with structural design software (CAD, Revit Structure, RAM, RISA, or similar).
- Willing to learn Riverview’s systems, culture and way of working.
- Comfortable operating with autonomy and ambiguity in a new system.
- Background in food processing, dairy, or industrial facility design is a plus.
