Salary Range: $150,000 – $200,000 (depending on experience, qualifications, and licensure)
Job Summary
Riverview is building an in-house Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design team to support the long-term vision of our milk processing plant development. This senior role is for an experienced engineer, designer, or industry expert ready to anchor a newly formed design team and work alongside them on the in-house transition of work currently performed by outside engineering partners. You will learn about our operation through our current project and progress into design strategy, layouts, and project execution on future phases of plant work. The right person brings deep technical knowledge, strong judgment, and a willingness to develop the people and processes around them.
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside the team with the development of layouts and design documentation for future plant work.
- Establish internal design standards, workflows, and quality expectations that improve communication, efficiency, and turnaround speed.
- Provide technical guidance to less experienced design team members as the team grows.
- Identify opportunities to improve cost, speed, and quality outcomes across the design function.
- Help shape the long-term vision and structure of Riverview’s in-house plant design and be a part of it from start up.
Qualifications
- Significant experience (8+ years) in a mechanical, electrical, or plumbing discipline as an engineer, senior designer, or recognized industry expert.
- Demonstrated ability to do design work and produce and detailed design documentation independently.
- PE licensure, relevant engineering degree, or equivalent depth of professional experience preferred.
- Proficiency with plant design modeling software (CAD, Revit, or similar).
- Willing to learn Riverview’s systems and culture.
- Comfortable operating with autonomy and ambiguity in a growing, new environment.
- Background in food processing, dairy, or industrial facility design is a plus.
