POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a licensed Professional Engineer to lead all connection design activities. This includes reviewing and stamping connection design calculations, coordinating with the detailing team, fabricators, and Engineers of Record, and managing the connection design scope on both active and prospective projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review, sign, and stamp structural steel connection design calculations.
- Produce and check connection design calculations as needed.
- Coordinate with the detailing team when connections require revision or redesign.
- Work with fabricators to determine connection design scope on ongoing and new projects.
- Communicate with the Engineer of Record to resolve discrepancies in connection design and loading.
- Take ownership of all connection-related matters across all active projects.
- Ensure all work meets applicable AISC standards and project-specific requirements.
- Maintain organized documentation of all sealed calculations and correspondence.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), currently registered in the following states: Missouri, Arkansas, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Alabama, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Florida, Indiana, Ohio, Colorado, Nebraska, North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Nevada, Kentucky, Michigan, Kansas, Mississippi, Minnesota.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in structural steel connection design.
- Thorough working knowledge of AISC standards (Steel Construction Manual, 360 Specification, Seismic Provisions, etc.).
- Experience with IDEA StatiCa.
- Familiarity with Tekla Structures and/or SDS/2.
- Ability to read and interpret structural steel construction documents, fabrication drawings, and erection plans.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordination with fabricators, detailers, and engineers.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- PE registration in additional U.S. states beyond those listed above.
- Direct experience working with steel fabricators and detailing firms.
- Background in datacenter, industrial, or large-scale commercial construction.
- Experience managing connection design scope and budgets on multiple concurrent projects.
Pay: $80,629.45 - $97,102.13 per year
