Tax Accountant
Imperium is looking for an in-house tax accountant to work closely with our Director of Taxation to handle our clients’ tax needs. The primary objective is the completion of all our clients’ tax filings in a precise and timely manner. This candidate would be a part of the planning team and responsible for inputting their thoughts and ideas from a tax point of view into client financial plans. The candidate would also ensure our clients’ tax situations are streamlined in the most efficient way possible. The candidate should also possess strong and effective research and communication skills to deliver recommendations clearly, exceptional client service, attention to detail, and the ability to establish rapport and maintain relationships with clients and co-workers.
Imperium Wealth Management is a comprehensive financial services company that offers financial planning, portfolio management, and tax services to our clients. Although this can mean different things at different firms, our goal is to have all things financial working in concert with one another to deliver a result in which the whole is greater than the sum of the individual parts.
Compensation commensurate with experience and credentials with a range of $85,000-$96,000 minimum but willing to negotiate higher for greater level of experience.

Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare tax returns and filings in a precise and timely manner.
- Effectively gather information from clients to make the return process as smooth as possible.
- Assist in financial planning especially from a tax point of view.
- Prepare tax projections.
- Be the primary point-of-contact to field any client tax-related questions.
- Prepare federal and multi-state individual, corporate, and S-corporation returns.
- Work independently
- Comprehensive understanding of tax law/rules and implications and remain up to date with tax regulations and code.
- Ability to effectively communicate with the Internal Revenue Service and other tax entities.
- Must be detail oriented and possess excellent organizational skills.
- Effective research and communication skills with a strong sense of ownership for service quality, thoroughness, and accuracy

Qualifications:
- CPA or EA, preferred
- UltraTax experience required
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
- Federal and multi-state individual return experience for individuals: 4+ years
- Federal and multi-state Partnership, S Corporation, C Corporation, and fiduciary returns experience: 4+ years
- Accounting experience: 4+ years
- QuickBooks experience (preferred but not required)
