You Don’t Just Want a Job. You Want to Build Something.
Most managers manage. They hold meetings, shuffle schedules, and keep things from falling apart. That’s not what we’re looking for.
We’re looking for someone who walks into a market and makes it theirs. Someone who recruits, trains, and develops a field team that becomes the heartbeat of this company’s growth in Boise. Someone who doesn’t need to be pushed — because they’re already moving.
If that sounds like you, keep reading.
Why Roofing. Why Boise. Why Now.
Let’s talk about the industry for a second, because it matters.
Roofing is one of the most recession-resistant service industries in existence. Roofs don’t care about economic cycles. They age. Storms hit. Hail doesn’t check the stock market before it falls. Homeowners need their roofs inspected, repaired, and replaced whether the economy is up or down — and they need someone they can trust to help them navigate it.
Boise is one of the strongest housing markets in the country. Population growth is sustained. The housing stock is aging. Severe weather events are consistent and real. The demand for roofing services in this market isn’t seasonal — it’s structural.
Roofing is not new to Boise. But True Roofs is. We’re a new brand entering this market with a strategy that’s already proven in other markets — and we’re building the Boise operation from the ground floor up. That means the person who steps into this role isn’t inheriting someone else’s system. They’re building one. The leaders who come in now won’t just have a job — they’ll have a legacy. As True Roofs grows in Boise and beyond, the people who were here at the beginning will have opportunities that simply won’t exist for anyone who comes later.
The Role
As Field Marketing Manager, you own the field operation in Boise. Your job is to build and lead a high-performing team of 1099 Field Marketers — door-to-door appointment setters who are the first point of contact between True Roofs and Boise homeowners.
Your three core responsibilities:
- Recruiting — Finding, attracting, interviewing, and submitting onboarding requests for the right people to join your FM team. This is a sales job in itself. You’re selling the opportunity, the culture, and the mission to people who could work anywhere.
- Training — Running our Field Marketing Bootcamp for every new hire and delivering ongoing coaching that sharpens skills, builds confidence, and raises the standard of the entire team.
- Leading — Setting the pace, holding the line, and developing your people so they grow within this company. You lead from the front.
You’ll also have the ability to run close appointments when needed — but your primary role is to develop the people who fill that pipeline, not to fill it alone.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing Day to Day
- Recruit continuously — sourcing, interviewing, and submitting onboarding requests for Field Marketers who fit the culture and the grind
- Lead bootcamp training for every new FM before they ever knock a door
- Coach your team in the field — riding along, giving real feedback, and modeling what great looks like
- Track team performance metrics and use data to drive individual and group improvement
- Collaborate with closers and leadership to ensure appointment quality and pipeline health
- Build the Boise Field Marketing culture from scratch — your energy sets the tone
- Run close appointments as needed when capacity demands it
Who This Is For
We’ll be direct about the kind of person who succeeds in this role:
- You are magnetic. People want to work with you and for you. Recruiting doesn’t feel like work to you — it feels like connecting.
- You are competitive. You keep score. You want your team to be the best-performing team in the company, and you’ll do what it takes to make that happen.
- You are a builder. You get energy from creating something from nothing. A blank slate isn’t intimidating — it’s exciting.
- You communicate fearlessly. You can have a hard conversation with an underperformer just as naturally as you fire up a room of new recruits.
- You take real ownership. No equity, no excuses — you treat this market like it’s yours because it is.
- You move fast. You don’t wait for perfect. You execute, learn, and adjust.
Sales leadership, door-to-door, or field marketing management experience is strongly preferred. Roofing experience is a plus — not a requirement. We can teach the industry. We can’t teach drive.
What True Roofs Offers
- Compensation: $120,000–$240,000 (W-2, full-time) — base plus performance-based upside tied to team results
- Autonomy — you run Boise your way, within a framework that works
- A proven strategy, a new brand, and a ground-floor opportunity — you’re not starting from scratch, you’re building on a playbook that works
- Direct access to leadership — no layers of bureaucracy between you and the people making decisions
- A role with a real identity — you’re not a cog. You’re the architect of this market.
About the Team You’ll Lead
Your Field Marketers are 1099 independent contractors — door-to-door canvassers who engage homeowners, educate them on the value of a free professional roof inspection, and set qualified appointments for our closing team.
They are performance-driven. They are self-directed. And they need a leader who can recruit them with conviction, train them with precision, and develop them with genuine investment in their success.
That leader is you.
One Required Step: Culture Index Survey
All applicants are required to complete a Culture Index survey as part of the application process. The survey results alone will not disqualify you — but failing to complete it will. This tool helps us understand how you’re wired so we can set you up for success, not just fill a seat.
