Job Overview
We are seeking a senior, in-house real estate accounting leader to own bookkeeping, accounting, and CPA coordination across a growing real estate platform with multiple properties, entities, and partnerships. This is not a junior role, not an outsourced relationship, and not a cleanup function. This role exists to provide clean, accurate, timely financial clarity so ownership can make better decisions and scale without surprises.
Core Responsibilities
1. Full-Cycle Bookkeeping & Accounting
Maintain complete, accurate books for:
Perform and oversee:
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Capital contributions and distributions
- Own the monthly close process across all entities
Standard: Books are CPA-ready at all times.
2. Real Estate & Partnership Accounting
Manage:
- Coordinate depreciation and cost segregation inputs
- Ensure consistency across entities and properties
Real estate accounting experience is required, not optional.
3. Internal Financial Reporting & Clarity
- Produce clear, readable financial reports
- Identify trends, anomalies, and drift
- Flag issues early — before they become problems
- Answer ownership questions directly and clearly
This is an owner-facing role, not data entry.
4. CPA & Tax Coordination
- Prepare and deliver CPA-ready books and schedules
- Serve as primary interface with external CPAs
- Reduce CPA noise, cost, and rework
- Eliminate year-end surprises
This role makes the CPA effective — it does not replace them.
What This Role Is NOT
- Not a property manager add-on
- Not an outsourced oversight role
This person owns the numbers inside the business.
Experience & Qualifications
Required
- 7–12+ years accounting experience
- Direct real estate accounting experience
- Multi-entity and partnership accounting exposure
- Comfort interfacing with CPAs
- Strong judgment, discretion, and ownership mindset
Preferred
- Controller or senior accounting experience
- Cost segregation exposure
- Syndication or fund accounting experience
- Familiarity with common real estate accounting systems

Compensation
$95,000 - $130,000.
Competitive and commensurate with experience.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
