Overview:
Responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the accounting and financial operations for assigned properties and work effectively as a team member and participate actively and constructively.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain general ledger for each assigned property.
- Generate various financial statements and reports for internal and external use on a monthly basis.
- Perform monthly reconciliations including, balance sheet account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, sub-ledger to general ledger reconciliations and complete review of profit and loss statements for reasonableness.
- Perform day-to-day accounting functions including, debt payment processing, fixed asset related accounting, analyze escrow accounts, and other activities as required.
- Prepare annual real estate tax accrual workpapers.
- Monitor monthly reporting including, gross possible rent, aged A/R and cash report.
- Provide information for the annual budget process for each assigned property.
- Prepare annual audit documents for each assigned property.
- Prepare annual property tax returns for each assigned property.
- Maintain communication with each assigned property’s lending institution.
- Work with personnel in other departments as needed to provide requested financial information.
- Complete other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Proficient in standard information technology tools, including Office products and general ledger software
- Knowledge of Yardi Property Management and Accounting software preferred.
- Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to read and comprehend the English language.
- Fluent in Spanish is a plus.
