The Semi Quality Lab Team at Tesla is seeking a Materials Engineer with a strong background in material testing, analytical methods, and problem-solving methodologies. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally to resolve challenges, improve manufacturability, and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
Collaborate with design, production, reliability, and quality engineering to address issues and improve processesLead projects from concept through validation to implementation, emphasizing qualitySustain products through cost reduction and yield improvementsUse structured problem-solving tools such as DMAIC, 8D, and IshikawaAnalyze data to identify trends and enhance quality and efficiencyMonitor and reduce process variation using SPC and MSA techniquesDevelop and maintain FMEAs, Control Plans, and work instructions for quality testing
What You'll Bring
Degree in Materials, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experienceMinimum of 4 year of experience in Quality, Process Design, Process Improvement or OperationsStrong expertise in material testing, including mechanical/structural, chemical and dimensional testingProficiency in analytical tools: Keyence, SEM-EDS, Instron, Rheometer, FTIR, XRF, and others is preferredKnowledge of statistical tools such as JMP or Minitab for data analysisExperience with root cause analysis, MSA studies and implementing data-driven solutionsAbility to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering and manufacturing teams
