R&D Engineer, Software – Intermediate
Location: Santa Rosa, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8 AM - 5 PM (PST)
Duration: Approximately 11 Months
Work Environment: 100% Onsite
About the Opportunity:
We are seeking an innovative and detail-oriented R&D Engineer, Software – Intermediate to join a collaborative engineering team focused on next-generation technology solutions. In this role, you will contribute to the development of advanced manufacturing test software used to validate and support cutting-edge products entering the market.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys combining software development with hands-on hardware interaction in a highly technical R&D environment.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without current or future visa sponsorship. What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to design and implement manufacturing test software processes for new product introductions.
- Develop software solutions that validate product functionality and performance in manufacturing environments.
- Gain hands-on experience with advanced time-domain measurement systems, including:
- Sampling diodes
- Optical-to-Electrical (OE) converters
- Apply software engineering expertise to create automated test solutions utilizing pulse lasers and varying trigger frequencies.
- Support integration between software applications and electronic test equipment.
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and improve manufacturing test workflows and system performance.
- Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
- Electrical Engineering
- Computer Science
- Computer Engineering
- Or a related technical discipline
- Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as:
- C++
- C#
- Java
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented engineering environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience interfacing with electronic equipment using SCPI.
- Understanding of electronic circuitry and electrical engineering fundamentals.
- Exposure to manufacturing test environments or automated test systems.
- Interest in photonics, measurement systems, or hardware/software integration.
