OverviewJob Description
We are hiring a Senior Salesforce Developer with deep expertise in the Quote-to-Cash (QTC) domain to join our Salesforce engineering team. This is not a typical Salesforce development role. Our team operates as a small, high-impact pod of forward-deployed engineers where each individual owns the full delivery lifecycle — discovery, design, build, test, deploy, and hypercare. There are no separate BAs, QAs, or release engineers; you wear all of those hats. If you enjoy owning outcomes end-to-end and partnering directly with business stakeholders, this role is for you.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain Salesforce CPQ solutions including product catalogs, complex bundles (multi-level configurable products), pricing models (list, block, percent-of-total, contracted pricing), discount schedules, product rules, price rules, quote templates, and approval workflows.
- Translate business requirements directly into working solutions — acting as your own BA, developer, and QA throughout the lifecycle, and partnering with Sales Ops, Finance, Order Management, and Provisioning teams.
- Build and maintain core Salesforce customizations using Apex (triggers, batch, queueable, future, async), Lightning Web Components (LWC), Aura, Visualforce (legacy), and Salesforce Flows.
- Design and implement inbound and outbound integrations between Salesforce and ERP, billing, finance, provisioning, and other enterprise systems using REST/SOAP APIs, OAuth, named credentials, Platform Events, Change Data Capture, and Bulk/Streaming APIs.
- Collaborate closely with our dedicated integration / middleware team (who own MuleSoft, Boomi, and Workato) to design contracts, troubleshoot integration flows, and ship end-to-end solutions together.
- Own the renewals, amendments, co-terming, and contract lifecycle flows within CPQ.
- Manage your own deployments using SFDX, Git-based source control, and CI/CD pipelines (Copado, Gearset, Flosum, or similar).
- Own production support for the CPQ stack — investigate quote calculation issues, pricing edge cases, and integration failures, and drive long-term remediation.
- Write unit tests, perform peer code reviews, and uphold engineering quality standards across the team.
- Use AI tools (e.g., Agentforce Vibes / vibe coding, Copilot, Claude) as part of your day-to-day workflow — we expect every engineer on the team to lean on AI to ship faster and better.
Required Qualifications
- 7–10 years of total Salesforce experience, with at least 4+ years dedicated to Salesforce CPQ (formerly Steelbrick).
- Deep expertise across Salesforce CPQ: bundle configuration (option constraints, configuration attributes, dynamic options), advanced pricing (price rules, lookup queries, summary variables, block pricing, contracted pricing, multi-dimensional quoting / MDQ), product rules (validation, selection, alert, filter), discount schedules, quote templates, and order / contract / renewal / amendment flows.
- Strong hands-on Apex (triggers, async patterns, governor-limit-aware design), LWC, Aura, SOQL/SOSL, and Salesforce Flows.
- Hands-on Salesforce integration experience — REST/SOAP APIs, OAuth, named credentials, Platform Events, Change Data Capture, and Bulk/Streaming APIs — with a track record of designing reliable, observable, and secure inbound/outbound integrations.
- Strong collaboration skills with adjacent technical teams (integration/middleware, data platform, DevOps) — able to co-design contracts, debug across system boundaries, and ship together.
- Comfortable owning a feature end-to-end — from discovery conversation with a stakeholder to production deploy and hypercare.
- Experience with Git, SFDX, and modern CI/CD tooling for Salesforce.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; able to talk equally well with finance leaders and engineers.
Required Certifications
- Salesforce Certified CPQ Specialist
- Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I
- Salesforce Certified Administrator
Preferred Certifications
- Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II
- Salesforce Certified Sales Cloud Consultant
- Salesforce Certified Revenue Cloud Consultant Accredited Professional (formerly Billing Specialist)
- Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder
- Salesforce Certified Agentforce Specialist
- Salesforce Certified Application Architect or System Architect
Nice to Have
- Hands-on Salesforce Revenue Cloud experience — building or migrating Revenue Cloud solutions, Revenue Lifecycle Management, or pairing Revenue Cloud with CPQ — is a strong plus.
- Experience at a hardware, storage, networking, or enterprise software company — especially one with a channel/partner sales motion.
- Experience working alongside (or hands-on with) middleware platforms we use today — MuleSoft, Boomi, and Workato — even though a dedicated team owns them. Familiarity with the patterns makes the collaboration smoother.
- Experience with Salesforce Billing or subscription / recurring-revenue models.
- Experience with CLM tools such as Conga CLM, DocuSign CLM, or Ironclad.
- Experience integrating Salesforce with ERP systems like NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle.
- Experience with channel/partner quoting, deal registration, or distributor pricing.
- Familiarity with tax engines (Avalara, Vertex) and payment/billing systems (Zuora, Stripe).
- Prior hands-on experience using AI development tools (Agentforce Vibes, vibe coding, Copilot, Claude, etc.) in a Salesforce context — including building Agentforce agents, actions, or prompt templates for sales / quoting use cases
Salary Range for this role: $160,000 - $190,000
