About the Private Equity Associate Role: GEC is hiring an Associate to join its growing investment team. As part of the investment team, the Associate will work directly with senior investment professionals to originate, execute, and manage new investments. The Associate will play a critical role in monitoring and exiting GEC’s current investments. The Associate will also support the internal fund workstreams of GEC, providing a unique opportunity to gain valuable private equity operations experience.
Responsibilities:
· Contributing to development of new investment themes
· Active participation in select areas of new business development/transaction sourcing
· Initial review of opportunities and development of investment thesis and transaction structure
· Financial modeling and valuation
· Due diligence
· Participate in negotiations of transaction documents
· Preparation of Investment Committee materials
· Development of fundraising materials
· Portfolio management including attendance at portfolio company board meetings
· Management of exit processes
· Assisting with internal fund workstreams (no prior experience required)
Candidate Background:
The position is a career track opportunity where an MBA is not required to advance. The ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:
· At least six months of investment banking, private equity, private credit, consulting, financial due diligence, corporate finance or public accounting experience
· Strong ties to Texas or willingness to relocate to Texas
· Knowledge of financial and operating models
· Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
· Self-motivator who is eager to be given substantial responsibility
· Strong communicator, both verbally and in written formats, and with both internal and external audiences
