Project Accountant
We are one of Atlanta's most reputable construction general contractors! We are looking for a detail oriented Project Accountant to support financial operations across active construction projects. In this role, we work closely with project teams, vendors, and clients to ensure accurate billing, timely payments, and well maintained project documentation. Key Responsibilities
Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable & Vendor Management:
- Prepare and submit owner billings in accordance with contract requirements
- Process AIA billings, including lien waivers, sworn statements, and supporting documentation
- Track billing status and assist with collection efforts when needed
- Ensure all billing deadlines are met accurately and on schedule
- Review and process subcontractor and vendor invoices
- Verify coding accuracy and route invoices for approval
- Maintain subcontractor compliance documentation (COIs, W-9s, lien waivers)
- Respond to vendor and subcontractor payment inquiries in a timely manner
Documentation, Compliance, Communication & Collaboration:
- Maintain organized and up to date electronic project and accounting files
- Ensure documentation meets company standards and is audit-ready
- Assist with internal and external audit requests
- Support project closeout activities, including final billing and documentation
- Partner closely with Project Managers and internal accounting teams
- Communicate professionally with clients, subcontractors, and vendors
- Provide timely responses to financial and project-related inquiries
- Contribute to process improvements and promote consistency across projects
What you need:
- 3+ years of Accounting Experience
- 1+ years at a construction company preferred
- BS in Accounting or related field
