Role Overview:
As an Engineer I on the Internal Component Refurbishment Team within the Molecular Diagnostics division, you will support the evaluation, refurbishment, and qualification of spare parts for reuse in field operations. The role involves hands-on technical work, troubleshooting, and collaboration to ensure refurbished components meet defined quality, performance, and reliability standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform evaluation, refurbishment, and qualification of spare parts for reuse in field service operations
- Conduct hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and testing of diagnostic system components
- Execute refurbishment processes following established procedures and engineering guidelines
- Perform verification and validation testing to ensure product reliability and performance
- Maintain accurate documentation of all refurbishment, testing, and repair activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support workflow execution and issue resolution
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for refurbishment methods and processes
- Ensure compliance with quality systems, regulatory standards, and internal procedures
Compliance & Work Environment:
- Operate within a controlled manufacturing environment
- Adhere strictly to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Maintain documentation in accordance with regulatory and quality requirements
- Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) is highly valued, especially in molecular or diagnostic settings
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering strongly preferred
- Equivalent hands-on technical experience may be considered in place of a degree
- Experience in laboratory or regulated environments (GLP/GMP) preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong focus on quality and compliance
