About The Role
We are looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our growing go-to-market team, based in Los Angeles. You will be responsible for generating and qualifying pipeline by engaging with R&D, innovation, and IP leaders at enterprise organizations.
This role is highly strategic and requires the ability to break into complex organizations, spark interest in a technical product, and clearly communicate Cypris’ value. You will work closely with Account Executives to build pipeline, refine messaging, and create new opportunities across target accounts.
Responsibilities
- Generate new pipeline through outbound prospecting across phone, email, and LinkedIn
- Research and identify high-potential accounts within target industries and ICPs
- Run structured outbound campaigns to engage R&D, innovation, and IP leaders
- Qualify inbound and outbound leads to determine fit, timing, and opportunity potential
- Schedule and coordinate discovery calls and product demos for Account Executives
- Develop personalized messaging that connects Cypris capabilities to customer workflows
- Maintain accurate activity tracking and lead management within Salesforce
- Partner closely with AEs to align on account strategy and pipeline progression
- Continuously test and iterate on outreach strategies to improve conversion rates
- Stay informed on market trends, competitors, and industry developments to strengthen outreach
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in a BDR, SDR, or similar outbound sales role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
- Experience with outbound prospecting tools and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to quickly learn and articulate complex, technical concepts
- Self-starter with a high level of ownership and accountability
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced startup environment
- Must be based in Los Angeles and willing to work in an office
Nice to Have
- Experience prospecting into enterprise or technical buyers
- Familiarity with AI, data platforms, or research tools
- Exposure to industries such as chemicals, materials science, pharma, or manufacturing
- Background working in a high-growth startup environment
