LineHaul Logistics is looking for a motivated Carrier Development Representative to join our growing team in Missoula, Montana.
This is not a boring back-office job. This role is for someone who enjoys talking to people, building relationships, solving problems, and being part of a high-performing logistics team. You will help grow and strengthen LineHaul’s carrier network, support our operations team, and build long-term relationships with trucking companies across the country.

What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain relationships with truckload carriers
- Source and develop new carrier partners across key lanes and regions
- Grow LineHaul’s carrier network through phone calls, email, referrals, and relationship-building
- Help match reliable carriers with customer freight opportunities
- Maintain accurate carrier information in our transportation management system
- Assist with carrier onboarding, documentation, insurance, and compliance needs
- Support the operations team with capacity, communication, and carrier updates
- Help identify strong carriers we can use repeatedly, not just one time
- Communicate professionally with carriers, customers, and internal team members
- Work in a fast-paced environment where urgency, accuracy, and teamwork matter

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with carrier partners, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business
- Identify new carrier opportunities through lead generation, market research, and proactive outreach
- Negotiate rates, contracts, and service terms to secure optimal freight solutions for clients
- Coordinate transportation planning by leveraging transportation management systems (TMS) and EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) platforms
- Manage daily account activities including data entry, dispatching, and tracking shipments using CRM software and AS400 systems
- Collaborate with internal teams on logistics sales strategies, pricing models, and contract negotiations to maximize revenue
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and other industry standards during transportation operations
- Monitor carrier performance metrics, troubleshoot issues promptly, and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Proven experience in supply chain management, transportation management, or logistics sales
- Strong knowledge of B2B sales processes within the transportation or 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) industry
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), CRM software, EDI, and AS400 platforms
- Excellent negotiation skills with a focus on freight pricing and contract development
- Ability to manage multiple accounts efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in data entry and dispatching tasks
- Understanding of supply chain concepts including logistics planning, freight management, and carrier relations
- Knowledge of NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier), FDA regulations, and transportation compliance standards is a plus
- Highly motivated with strong communication skills to foster lasting customer relationships and generate new leads
