Job Description:
The successful Coughlin Porter Lundeen is seeking structural engineers to join our growing team. We are currently hiring for a staff engineer/structural project engineer (depending on experience level).
These roles involves the design and preparation of construction documents on diverse project types using a variety of building materials. As an integral member of the design process, structural engineers are challenged to develop project management skills, lead in-house design teams, and work firsthand with a diverse range of clients. Engineers are involved with every aspect of the project from design through construction. This position requires sound technical skills, strong communication skills, and a professional attitude. The ideal candidate will possess a demonstrated ability to adapt and think creatively in a growing environment, with a willingness to embrace new challenges and opportunities that come along.
Required Qualifications:
- BSCE or MSCE degree (MSCE Preferred)
- Structural design experience preferred
- Licensure: EIT required, PE preferred
- Requires effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must have initiative, be resourceful, and able to work independently.
- Must be able to effectively prioritize, manage time and projects, and multi-task in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Works effectively as part of a project team.
- Requires fluency in English with strong verbal and written skills.
- Must be able to effectively collaborate with all levels of management, staff, and clients in diverse environments.
- Ability to drive locally and travel domestically as needed.
Physical requirements:
· Ability to drive as needed to client project locations (primarily in the greater Seattle area).
· Able to travel by airplane domestically as needed for client projects (outside the greater Seattle area), campus recruiting, conferences, etc.
· Requires sitting for extended periods of time at a computer, keying and reading content.
· Able to use office equipment such as phone, copier, printer, etc.
Benefits and Compensation
- $85,000-$120,000 per year (depending on experience and qualifications)
- Additional compensation for hours worked in excess of 40 hours weekly (paid quarterly)
