Experienced Floral Designer with Funeral Design Expertise
Shirley Floral is looking for a positive and outgoing self-starter to fill the position of Floral Designer. Experience is required. Further training and support will be provided to transform this person's style to suit Shirley Floral's customers and vision.
We are looking for someone who can be an asset to our team and is ready to be hands-on with production on the design floor. This individual will also assist with customer service when necessary, including entering orders, answering phones, and interacting with customers. They will be tasked with keeping themselves and other staffers on task and productive. Holiday availability is required. Floral holidays include the 2 weeks leading up to and the week of the holiday: Thanksgiving week, Christmas week, Valentine's Day week, Easter weekend, and Mother's Day week. Must be available and willing to work extra during these busy weeks. Designing is the main responsibility. Wages will be based on experience, speed, and skills.
Hours: 30 to 35 hours per week. Must be available M-Saturday. Weekends will rotate among the designers.
Responsibility Summary: Following is an outline of this position's major areas of responsibility:
- Efficiently and productively design floral bouquets, plant arrangements, sympathy floral orders, etc., to the specifications of our customers and the policies of this organization.
- Assist in new product design when asked to do so
- Maintain an organized and clean work station and department
- Record low levels of supplies, hard goods, and fresh & plant components, and report to the purchasing manager or care and handling lead for replenishment
- Assist in production preparation & set up containers, green containers, etc., as deemed necessary by the design or operations manager
- Assist the team with any clerical needs necessary
- Perform as a strong 1st in charge when the design lead is unavailable
- Continually strive to improve Shirley Floral's design department
- Communicate and interact with other team members in a harmonious way to promote a strong team working relationship
- Be available and willing to help in any Shirley Floral department when necessary
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
