Title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Greater Seattle Area
Pay Range: $80-$110k DOE

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and production of specialized hardware products used in demanding real-world environments. This role offers the opportunity to work on products that integrate mechanical systems, electronics, and sensors while contributing throughout the full product development lifecycle!
The Mechanical Engineer will be involved from early design concepts through testing, manufacturing support, and continuous product improvement. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who enjoys product development, prototyping, and collaborating across engineering and manufacturing teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and package electrical components and sensors based on performance requirements, environmental conditions, user needs, and product constraints
- Improve existing products based on testing results, manufacturing feedback, and customer input
- Investigate mechanical failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Design with manufacturability in mind and support production activities
- Develop and execute test plans to validate design decisions and document results
- Perform engineering risk assessments throughout the design process
- Create 3D models, assemblies, engineering drawings, and product renderings
- Maintain engineering documentation using established version control processes
- Design CNC-machined components and assemblies using GD&T best practices
- Partner with manufacturing and other cross-functional teams to support product development and production
- Design components for resin casting applications
- Build and evaluate prototypes using FDM, SLA, and SLS 3D printing technologies
- Develop fixtures, tooling, and procedures to support manufacturing operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 1-3 years of mechanical design or product development experience
- Experience supporting products through design, testing, validation, and production
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or a similar 3D CAD platform
- Experience creating 3D models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings
- Understanding of design for manufacturability (DFM), CNC machining, and GD&T
- Ability to perform hands-on testing, analyze results, and make design recommendations
- Knowledge of basic material science, fluid dynamics, stress, and strain concepts
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SolidWorks PDM, Routing, or Weldments
- Experience designing products that incorporate electronics, sensors, or electromechanical systems
- Familiarity with mechanical and electronic assembly processes
- Experience with resin casting methods
- Experience using FDM, SLA, or SLS 3D printing technologies
