Overview:
Arete Consulting is hiring a Technical & Engineering Specialist to provide technical and engineering guidance to integrate unmanned systems in support of the USCG’s Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS) Program Executive Office (PEO) programs. This is a hands-on role in shaping the future of national maritime security.

Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and engineering guidance analysis, and support across all aspects of engineering design, development, testing, and integration of RAS systems, in accordance with USCG systems engineering lifecycle (SELC) standards.
- Conduct technical reviews of engineering documentation, including system specifications, design documents, test plans, and integration plans, ensuring compliance with USCG requirements.
- Support the development and implementation of technical performance metrics and measures of effectiveness (MOEs) for CG-RAS systems aligned with USCG operational needs.
- Assist in identification and mitigation of technical risks and challenges, using USCG risk management methodologies.
- Provide guidance in areas such as robotics, autonomy, sensors, communications, power systems, and software engineering, relevant to RAS applications.
- Support the development and execution of test and evaluation (T&E) programs for RAS systems, ensuring compliance with USCG T&E policies.
- Evaluate contractor technical proposals and provide recommendations to the Government, ensuring alignment with USCG acquisition lifecycle (ALF) requirements.
- Attend and participate in meetings, conferences, and working groups related to RAS.
- Conduct site visits to contractor facilities and USCG operational locations to assess technical capabilities and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare technical reports, briefings, and presentations on technical issues and recommendations, tailored to USCG audiences.
- Provide technical assessments of proposed changes to RAS system designs, ensuring compliance with USCG engineering change management processes.
- Evaluate interoperability and integration issues with other USCG systems (e.g., C4ISR platforms, cutters, aircraft) in operational environment.
- Support configuration management (CM) activities, ensuring adherence to USCG CM policies and procedures outlined in the USCG MSAM.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship and active Secret clearance.
- 3-10 years of engineering experience in robotics, autonomy, or defense systems.
- Familiarity with USCG systems engineering lifecycle (SELC) standards and systems acquisition lifecycle (ALF) requirements.
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
- Bachelor's degree

Pay: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
