The CAD Designer / Drafter is responsible for production of technical and contractual drawings for the use permit submittal, render presentation and fabrication.
Responsibilities
- Learn Eventstar product line to efficiently design structures based on existing rental stock.
- Support the creation of document control by creating and modifying Bill of Materials, set up component numbers and related documentation for new structures.
- Oversee all permit process. Assume submittals meet graphic standards and design criteria (specifically for the City of Miami, Dade County, and Miami Beach).
- Realize project plans / trade (2D / 3D view / elevations / facades).
- Coordinate with the Sales department in terms of deadlines, project assignments, site inspections and reviews. Maintain communication with sales office on project progress.
- Generate proposals that work under the umbrella of tenting, semi-permanent and Eventstar capabilities.
- Generate engineering details (of Eventstar products) to be signed off by structural engineer/architect etc.
- Generate electrical plans to be signed off by MEP engineer/electrical contractor etc.
- Conduct pre and post design site inspections and on-field examinations of as-builts.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proven experience with CAD drafting software including AutoCAD, Lumion, Sketchup, Photoshop.
- Ability to use AutoCAD drawing objects features, including but not limited to layers, blocks, annotation, referencing, printing and set preferences.
- Knowledge of ADA and Life Safety preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction drawing standards.
- Proficiency in understanding and coordinating architectural and engineering drawings.
- Understanding of Florida Building Codes requirements and related zoning codes required.
- Experience in events, equipment rental, or construction type industry preferred.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
- Bilingual English and Spanish required.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
