We are seeking a skilled and innovative PV Designer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and engineering solar pv systems for residential and small commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in solar design, drafting, electrical engineering, and project management.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze site visits to assess site information and design an efficient PV system for code compliant installations and come up with creative solutions for complex designs.
- Design PV systems using software programs such as AutoCAD, excel, Aurora and other modeling tools.
- Prepare detailed drawings and electrical calculations for PV designs.
- Provide technical support to project managers and installation partners throughout the design process.
- Collaborate with other members of the engineering team to provide quality permit packages.
- Ensure compliance with local and national regulations and codes as well as utility requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of PV design and industry advancements and best practices.
- Applying proper codes to designs (NEC, Building Code, Fire Code, Greenbook, etc.)
- Performing electrical load calculations for service upgrade and derates

Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in PV design and engineering or Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field.
- Proficient in software programs such as AutoCAD, Aurora, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and SalesForce
- Familiarity with local and national regulations and codes related to PV and various AHJ's submission / revision process.
- Adept at working in a fast-paced environment and maintaining a positive attitude in potentially stressful situations.
- Familiar with different types of solar equipment and balance of systems for the proper design of PV systems
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Pay: $54,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
