About DSI Consulting Group
DSI Consulting Group is a boutique enterprise performance management (EPM) consulting firm. We help finance and operations teams plan, model, and automate at the level large enterprises expect — across Anaplan implementation, AI and automation, and compliance and controls. We run a senior-led delivery model and take on work that demands precision: workforce planning, financial integrations, and reporting pipelines for sophisticated clients.
We’re a small, fast-moving team, which means an intern here works on real things — not busywork — with close mentorship from senior engineers.
The Role
We’re looking for a Software Engineer Intern to join the AI & Automations practice. This is a hands-on, learning-focused seat. You’ll spend most of your time building internal tooling and automation alongside our engineers, with supported exposure to live client work as you ramp up. You’ll get real ownership of small pieces early, and the mentorship to grow into bigger ones.
This is a strong path into a full-time engineering role for the right person.
What You’ll Do
• Build and test small automations and integrations under the guidance of senior engineers (e.g., Google Apps Script, REST APIs, scheduled data jobs).
• Contribute to internal tooling and reusable automation assets that make DSI’s delivery faster.
• Shadow and assist on client engagements — sitting in on delivery, helping prepare and test what gets built.
• Learn to spot where AI-generated code goes wrong, and help review and clean it up.
• Write clear, documented code and take feedback in code review.
• Ask good questions and document what you learn so the next person moves faster.
What We’re Looking For
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s (or Master’s) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field — rising juniors, seniors, and recent grads welcome.
• Solid programming fundamentals in at least one language (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar). We care more that you understand the fundamentals than how many tools you know.
• Comfortable picking up modern engineering tooling — version control (Git) and AI-assisted environments like Claude, Cursor, and Replit — and curious about using AI to build, while learning to verify what it produces rather than trusting it blindly.
• Clear communicator and coachable — you take feedback well and follow through.
• Authorization to work in the United States. (This internship does not offer visa sponsorship.)
Nice to Have
• Exposure to Google Apps Script, Google Workspace APIs, or no-/low-code automation.
• Coursework or projects involving APIs, data pipelines, or financial/analytics data.
• Personal or class projects built with AI coding tools — and the ability to talk about what worked and what didn’t.
• Interest in finance, planning, or business systems.
Compensation & Path
• Hourly pay: $25 / hour, based on skills and experience.
• Strong interns may be considered for a full-time Software Engineer role at the end of the internship.
