About DSI Consulting Group
DSI Consulting Group is a boutique enterprise performance management (EPM) consulting firm. We help finance and operations teams plan, model, and automate at the level large enterprises expect — across Anaplan implementation, AI and automation, and compliance and controls. We run a senior-led delivery model and take on work that demands precision: workforce planning, financial integrations, and reporting pipelines for sophisticated clients.
We are a small, fast-moving team where engineers ship real work early and see the impact directly.
The Role
We’re hiring our first US-based engineer to join the AI & Automations practice. This is a hybrid builder-and-consultant seat, split roughly evenly between two kinds of work:
• ~50% client-facing: working directly on client engagements — building automations and integrations for clients, walking stakeholders through what you’ve built, and helping deliver real solutions alongside our consultants.
• ~50% internal: building reusable AI-driven automation assets and internal agentic tooling, plus the pipelines and utilities that make DSI’s own delivery faster and our reporting cleaner.
You will not be siloed. You’ll sit close to the people defining what gets built, get direct mentorship from senior engineers, and be in front of clients early — so strong communication matters as much as strong code.
What You’ll Do
• Build and maintain integrations and automations connecting financial, planning, and accounting systems (e.g., Google Apps Script, REST APIs, scheduled data jobs) — both for clients and for DSI internally.
• Work directly with client stakeholders to understand needs, demonstrate what you’ve built, and support solution delivery on live engagements.
• Troubleshoot and harden client-built “vibe code” — diagnose what AI-generated automations get wrong and get them working reliably in production.
• Help steer clients in the right direction on automation — guiding them toward sound, maintainable approaches instead of brittle quick fixes.
• Develop internal tools and utilities that streamline how the team delivers client work.
• Write clean, well-documented, testable code, and participate in code review.
• Help shape data pipelines that move and transform financial and operational data reliably.
• Debug, monitor, and improve the things you ship — ownership doesn’t end at deploy.
• Collaborate with consultants and senior engineers to translate business needs into working software.
What We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 0–1 years of professional experience; recent graduates and bootcamp grads with strong project portfolios are encouraged to apply.
• Solid programming fundamentals in at least one modern language (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar).
• Comfort with APIs, JSON, and basic data manipulation.
• Familiarity with version control (Git).
• Hands-on familiarity with AI-assisted coding workflows (“vibe coding”) and AI coding environments such as Replit — and a clear-eyed understanding of their pitfalls. You should know where AI-generated code goes wrong (insecure or unreviewed code, hidden technical debt, hallucinated dependencies) and treat AI as an accelerant you verify, not a black box you trust. This matters most on client work, where what ships has to hold up.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and comfort being in front of clients — explaining technical work clearly to non-technical finance stakeholders.
• A willingness to ask questions, take ownership, and learn fast.
• Authorization to work in the United States. (This role does not offer visa sponsorship.)
Nice to Have
• Exposure to Google Apps Script, Google Workspace APIs, or no-/low-code automation.
• Coursework or projects involving data pipelines, ETL, or financial/analytics data.
• Interest in finance, planning, or business systems.
• Any cloud (GCP/AWS) or SQL experience.
Compensation & Benefits
• Base salary: $70,000 – $85,000, commensurate with skills and demonstrated ability.
