About the Role
As a Lead Firmware Engineer, you will drive the design and implementation of robust embedded software solutions for complex hardware platforms. You will play a pivotal role in shaping system architecture and ensuring high-performance execution across real-time control environments.
Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain scalable firmware solutions across diverse product lines to ensure long-term system reliability.
- Develop high-performance C/C++ code optimized for real-time control, sensor integration, and data processing.
- Define system-level interfaces and establish standardized design patterns to improve team development efficiency.
- Partner with hardware engineering teams to facilitate board bring-up, schematic validation, and seamless system integration.
- Troubleshoot complex hardware-software interactions using advanced diagnostic tools like logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
- Support the evolution of both bare-metal and RTOS-based architectures to meet changing product requirements.
Qualifications
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- 5+ years of professional experience in embedded firmware development throughout the full product lifecycle.
- Advanced proficiency in C/C++ programming for resource-constrained microcontroller environments.
- Deep understanding of MCU architecture, including memory management, interrupt handling, and timing constraints.
- Proven expertise in low-level communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, and RS-485.
- Strong hands-on lab skills, including hardware probing and system testing.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with STM32 or similar ARM Cortex-M platforms.
- Familiarity with RTOS scheduling, deterministic design, or Embedded Linux.
- Knowledge of industrial automation protocols like BACnet.
- Background in developing graphical user interfaces using Qt/QML.
- Experience optimizing SDLC processes and internal development workflows.
