We are looking for a motivated and results-driven Inside Sales Representative to help expand our customer base and support the growth of our genomic testing and software solutions.
Position Overview
The Inside Sales Representative will be responsible for identifying potential customers, generating qualified leads, conducting outreach, scheduling meetings, and supporting the sales pipeline for Breakthrough Genomics’ clinical testing services and Virtual Geneticist® platform. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable with scientific or healthcare-related sales and enjoys communicating with laboratories, clinicians, genetic counselors, researchers, and healthcare executives.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify new sales opportunities among hospitals, clinical laboratories, genetic testing companies, research institutions, and healthcare organizations.
- Conduct outbound outreach by email, phone, LinkedIn, and other professional channels.
- Introduce Breakthrough Genomics’ services, including clinical exome/genome sequencing support, variant interpretation, and Virtual Geneticist® AI platform.
- Schedule product demonstrations, discovery calls, and follow-up meetings for the leadership or business development team.
- Maintain accurate records of prospects, communications, and sales activities in the CRM system.
- Follow up with inbound leads, conference contacts, webinar participants, and marketing campaign responses.
- Support preparation of sales materials, quotations, proposals, and customer presentations.
- Work closely with leadership, scientific, marketing, and technical teams to communicate customer needs and market feedback.
- Track sales pipeline progress and provide regular updates on lead status, opportunities, and conversion metrics.
- Build professional relationships with decision-makers in genomics, molecular diagnostics, rare disease, newborn screening, and precision medicine.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in life sciences, genetics, biology, biotechnology, business, or a related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in inside sales, business development, customer success, or lead generation preferred.
- Experience in healthcare, diagnostics, biotechnology, genomics, laboratory services, or software sales is a strong plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable explaining scientific or technical products to professional audiences.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple prospects and follow-ups.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, email campaigns, LinkedIn outreach, or sales automation tools preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Interest in genomic medicine, AI-powered healthcare, rare disease diagnosis, or precision medicine.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience selling to clinical laboratories, hospitals, genetic testing companies, or academic medical centers.
- Knowledge of next-generation sequencing, exome sequencing, genome sequencing, variant interpretation, or clinical genetics.
- Experience supporting SaaS, software platform, or laboratory service sales.
- Existing network in genomics, molecular diagnostics, or precision medicine is a plus.
Compensation
Compensation will be competitive and based on experience. $56,000 to $62,000 per year. The package may include base salary, performance-based commission, and growth opportunities within the company.
