Role Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career engineers to develop their technical skills while contributing to the design, development, and improvement of manufacturing products and systems. The Mechanical Design Engineer will collaborate directly with our customers on an order-to-order basis to customize products to best suit their applications and goals. We are seeking a fast learner who can work closely with colleagues to gain knowledge of workflow and manufacturing and design processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and revise 3D models of parts and assemblies
- Create and revise drawings for customer approvals and product manufacturing
- Participation in design reviews
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Support production teams by troubleshooting design-related issues and implementing corrective actions
- Manage documentation in a neat and efficient manner
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and support a positive workplace environment
Qualifications
- Proficiency with SolidWorks 3D Modeling software
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals, such as manufacturing processes and structural limitations of materials
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams including customer representatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Exposure to manufacturing environments through internships, projects, or coursework
- Prior experience in the manufacturing or automation industry is a plus
Working Environment
- Office and manufacturing floor
- Occasional travel to local customers and suppliers
