Digital Marketing Specialist — SEO, GEO & AEO
Porter Pro Media is looking for a full-time Digital Marketing Specialist to join our growing digital marketing team.
This role goes beyond traditional SEO. You'll optimize our clients' content not just for Google's search results, but for how they show up in AI-powered answers — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google's AI Overviews, and voice assistants. But ranking is only half of it. The content still has to sound human, tell the client's story clearly, and move someone to act. We're looking for someone who cares about both the data pull and the message.To be successful, you should be fluent in current SEO/local SEO best practices, understand how generative engines retrieve and cite content, and bring strong analytical skills to the table.
Ultimately, you'll apply SEO, GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) strategies to make our clients' brands visible and citable everywhere people are searching—in traditional search bars and AI chat boxes alike.
Responsibilities
- Conduct keyword and query research, including conversational/long-tail prompts used in AI search
- Perform competitive analysis and identify content gaps and web design improvement areas
- Track SEO metrics (organic traffic, conversion rates, time on page) alongside AI visibility metrics (citation frequency, AI Overview appearances, share of voice in LLM answers)
- Structure and update content to be easily "extractable" by AI engines — clear answers, strong headers, schema markup, FAQ formatting
- Add effective CTAs to improve user engagement on updated content
- Monitor how client brands are represented (and cited) in tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews
- Implement structured data/schema markup to support both traditional rankings and AI comprehension
- Report on performance across both classic SEO and AI-driven visibility
- Implement link building and digital PR strategies that support authority signals AI engines rely on
- Assist with website changes/updates across CMS platforms
- Stay current on SEO, GEO, and AEO trends as search behavior continues to shift toward AI-mediated discovery
- Partner with our content and creative team so optimized pages actually convert, not just rank: clear messaging, strong story, a reason to act
- Translate a client's business goals into a search strategy, rather than optimizing pages in a vacuum
- Make sure search work fits the bigger picture, coordinating with web design, paid, social, and email so the whole funnel pulls in the same direction
- Apply messaging frameworks (we run on StoryBrand) so content is clear and compelling, not just keyword-complete
Requirements
- Expertise in Google Analytics (GA4)
- Familiarity with keyword research tools (Ahrefs, Moz, SEMrush, etc.) and emerging AI visibility/tracking tools (e.g., Profound, Otterly, BrightEdge, or similar)
- Understanding of traditional ranking factors plus how generative/answer engines source, summarize, and cite content
- Working knowledge of schema markup and structured data
- Strong analytical skills and comfort interpreting data across multiple platforms
- Experience using website CMS platforms (Webflow, Shopify, WordPress)
- Business, Marketing, or Communications majors preferred
- Curiosity and adaptability — this field is evolving fast, and we want someone excited to keep up with it
- Strong writing and editing instincts; you can tell the difference between content that ranks and content that converts
- Strategic mindset: you can connect SEO work to real business outcomes and see how one channel fits the whole
- Familiarity with messaging or brand frameworks (StoryBrand a plus)
- Genuine interest in how our clients' businesses actually make money, and who their customers are
Who You Are
You see SEO as one move on a bigger board. You can geek out over schema markup and a clean data pull, but you also care whether the content sounds human and makes someone want to act. You're curious about our clients' businesses, not just their keywords, and you ask why a campaign exists before you optimize for it. When a new AI search behavior shows up, you're the one who already read about it over the weekend. You'd rather own an outcome than check off a task. And because we read every application closely, tell us in your note why PPM specifically, not just any agency, so we know we're talking to someone who actually pictured themselves here.
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
