LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant with a strong background in the real estate industry to join a team in Newtown Square, PA. This role is responsible for managing the full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of properties, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of commercial and/or residential properties
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and tenant accounts
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including rent rolls and collections
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes for assigned properties
- Track and report on capital expenditures and tenant improvement projects
- Work closely with property management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Support year-end audit processes and tax reporting requirements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of property accounting experience within the real estate industry (required)
- Strong understanding of real estate accounting concepts, including CAM reconciliations and lease structures
- Experience managing a portfolio of properties (commercial, multifamily, or mixed-use preferred)
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work onsite in Newtown Square, PA, five days per week
Compensation:
$75,000-$05,000
Benefit offerings for full-time employment include medical, dental, vision
PTO is offered on an accrual basis
Paid Sick Leave where applicable by State law
