Role Overview
We are looking for an early-career Simulation Software Engineer to join our talented and rapidly growing engineering team. You will contribute to Revel's simulation engine used to validate automation and operator control of high-criticality hardware. This is an opportunity to grow into a highly specialized discipline at the intersection of software engineering, physics, and safety-critical systems.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of high-performance, reliable simulation software.
- Support the infrastructure used to configure and execute simulations.
- Work with simulation software users to help develop new features and models.
- Collaborate with compiler engineers, frontend engineers, and product teams to integrate simulation into the broader Revel ecosystem.
- Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement practices.
- Assist in addressing engineering challenges in simulation under the guidance of senior engineers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- Foundational proficiency in C++ and/or Rust, or strong motivation to develop it quickly.
- Understanding of modern software engineering practices including testing and code reviews.
- Coursework or working knowledge of physics and applied mathematics, including thermodynamics or fluid dynamics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to TypeScript and/or Python.
- Familiarity with numerical methods or differential equations from coursework or personal projects.
- Interest in safety-critical or mission-critical software development.
- Any experience with simulation, modeling, or physical system software is a strong plus.

Compensation
The base salary range for this role is $90,000 – $161,000. Actual compensation will depend on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications. Revel is committed to paying fairly and competitively — the posted range reflects what we genuinely expect to pay for this role.
We're building something that doesn't exist yet, and the people who help us get there matter more than a job level. If your experience meaningfully exceeds the scope of this role, we're open to calibrating the position and the compensation accordingly.
In addition to base salary, this role includes meaningful equity. We're an early-stage company and believe the people building Revel should share in what we're creating.
