Overview
Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Marketing Assistant to support a Beauty marketing team, with a primary focus on the fragrance category. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about beauty and luxury brands and enjoys supporting product launches, marketing operations, retailer initiatives, competitive analysis, and cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and thrives in a collaborative environment while balancing multiple priorities. This role offers exposure to brand marketing, fragrance launches, retailer partnerships, and global marketing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Analytics & Business Support
- Collect and analyze competitive market data and industry trends.
- Pull and organize brand performance data using internal reporting tools including Circana, Power BI..
- Support data collection and reporting for leadership meetings, business reviews, global presentations, and marketing recaps.
- Monitor competitor activity and provide insights to support brand strategy.
Product Samples & Inventory Management
- Coordinate retailer requests for full-size products and samples for marketing programs, editorial features, meetings, and photoshoots.
- Maintain organization and inventory of the product closet using Salesforce SHOP.
- Assist with inventory management at third-party storage facilities.
- Ensure products are available to support ongoing marketing initiatives.
Product Launch & Marketing Operations
- Provide marketing information required for SKU creation and product code setup to support successful product launches.
- Track marketing information throughout the launch process to ensure timely product availability.
Purchase Order Administration
- Track and manage brand Purchase Orders (POs) from creation through final reconciliation.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate documentation and timely processing.
- Assist with budget tracking and purchase order reporting.
Influencer & Product Seeding
- Partner with agencies including Her Campus and Influenster to coordinate product seeding prior to launches.
- Provide launch information, product copy, imagery, and shipment coordination for sampling programs.
- Support ratings and reviews initiatives by ensuring timely product delivery.
Retailer & Sample Coordination
- Coordinate retailer sample requests by providing product images, ingredient information, product weights, and shipment details.
- Order marketing samples through Salesforce SHOP to support retailer programs and promotional initiatives.
Meeting & Event Preparation
- Prepare and ship products in advance of retailer presentations and business meetings.
- Assemble product kits and meeting materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate product logistics for meetings hosted in the New York office.
Beauty Market Research
- Stay informed on fragrance, beauty, and competitive market trends.
- Visit retail locations to gather competitive intelligence, product photography, and merchandising insights.
- Support preparation for executive store walks and key retailer visits.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in marketing, brand marketing, or marketing coordination.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong presentation and project coordination abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work onsite in the New York office a minimum of 3 days per week.
Preferred
- Experience within the beauty, fragrance, luxury, or consumer products industry.
- Exposure to product launches, retailer marketing, or brand marketing.
- Experience with Circana, Power BI, or Salesforce SHOP.
- Familiarity with marketing analytics, inventory management, and purchase order tracking.
