Our Client is a Boutique Investment Bank focused on Biotechnology. They need an Investment Banking Analyst 1 or 2.
Role Description The Investment Banking Analyst–Biotechnology role is a full-time, on-site position based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The analyst will support deal execution and advisory work for biotechnology clients, including building and maintaining detailed financial models, conducting company and industry research, and preparing pitch books, presentations, and transaction materials. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing quantitative and qualitative analysis of biotech companies, assisting with valuation and capital markets analyses, and participating in due diligence processes. The role will also involve coordinating with senior bankers and cross-functional teams, tracking market developments in the biotechnology sector, and contributing to client meetings and internal discussions.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in finance and investment banking, with knowledge of capital markets and corporate finance principles. NECESSARY TO HAVE BIOTECHNOLOGY / LIFE SCIENCES.
- Advanced financial modeling skills and proficiency in valuation techniques (DCF, comparables, transaction analysis).
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data and market information.
- Experience conducting due diligence, including reviewing financial statements, industry data, and regulatory information.
- Interest in and understanding of the biotechnology sector, including key industry trends and drivers.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases; solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related quantitative field; relevant internships or prior experience in investment banking or equity research preferred.
- Ability to work in a high-demand environment, manage multiple projects, collaborate with team members, and maintain high ethical and professional standards.
