Role Description The Junior Financial Analyst role is a full-time, on-site position based in New York, NY. This role supports the finance team by assisting with the preparation, analysis, and reconciliation of financial statements and reports related to the company’s property portfolio. Day-to-day responsibilities include collecting and validating financial data, updating forecasting models, supporting budgeting and financial planning activities, and helping analyze variances between actual and budgeted results. The Junior Financial Analyst will collaborate with senior analysts and property management staff to provide insights on property performance, prepare summaries for internal stakeholders, and maintain organized documentation for audits and internal reviews. The role also involves using spreadsheets and financial software to track key metrics and support continuous process improvements.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret quantitative data to support financial decision-making.
- Knowledge of finance principles and experience working with financial statements and basic financial reporting.
- Exposure to financial planning activities, such as budgeting, forecasting, or variance analysis, is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet tools; familiarity with financial or ERP software is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
